We welcome companies and businesses sharing our aims and objectives to conserve the grade II listed chapel on the site of the Royal South Hants Hospital. The chapel has been closed for about 12 years and a leaking roof and inappropriate repairs means that the Friends will be undertaking fund raising to bring the building and facilities including a lift for disabled access, the introduction of a toilet and a small kitchen area and modern safety equipment. We believe that after a careful conservation programme that companies will value the ambiance and character of the chapel for meetings or corporate events as will community groups for their activities and meetings. Successful companies will wish to identify with a successful and well run charity.

The charity will be working with local community groups to introduce facilities apart for meetings and corporate events, exhibitions including health education and awareness, and displays by local groups such as art and craft exhibitions.

Corporate Members will receive a vote to use at meetings and the directors will welcome any business acumen in helping to create the charity into a long term success.

We welcome as a corporate member South West Hampshire LIFT.

The annual membership is a minimum of £15.

We also have a Cornerstone Corporate Membership for PLC’s and Trusts wishing to fully support the  Friends of the chapel with a future as a role model in the community and to be clearly identified with our success.

We have in the first few months of creating the charity welcomed generous support from  NHS Southampton City, Care UK [they run the Southampton Treatment Centre at the Royal South Hants Hospital] and Hampshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We have presented those exceptionally generous supporters with a framed certificate which they display at their premises. We value such support as it enabled the Friends to take the next step from a modest start to register with the Charity Commission. As a registered charity we gain better access and recognition when approaching funding trusts and charities.

The annual membership as a Corporate Cornerstone Member is a minimum of £30.

We would also be prepared to award Cornerstone Corporate Membership in return for long term commitment or sponsorship or the supply of conservation materials or services, office furniture, heritage display modules, ancillaries such as newsletter publishing, software, accountancy costs etc. if you would like to discuss these opportunities please telephone John Avery Company Secretary on 023 80638650

The charity looks to various ways to raise funds and the offer of attractive prizes for a raffle is one of those initiatives. Any business being able to donate a prize from a modest box of wine to a cruise or a TV or a weekend break please do come forward and feature on this website.
